2012: The founding origins
In 2012, Louis-Xavier Savard founded a firm with the goal of offering families and businesses financial services from multiple providers with ease. An entrepreneur and visionary, Louis-Xavier already saw the large-scale company it would become, despite being in his early twenties.
2020: The GFS Advantage
In December 2018, Karl Desgroseilliers joined the team, bringing with him his expertise in working with entrepreneurial clients and high net worth individuals. When Eric Desgroseilliers followed suit in February 2020, he brought with him a wealth of experience in multi-service banking, mortgages, insurance, and group pensions. Both became shareholders, and the firm took the name Groupe Financier Signature. Since then, Avantage GFS has established synergy between the different divisions to better meet the varied needs of its clients.
2023: The expansion phase
In 2023, GFS ran a successful crowdfunding campaign. This initiative was followed by two rounds of private financing, which enabled the company to acquire around 20 clients.
2024: Obtaining the title of General Agent
Having become a General Agent, GFS recruited more than 100 representatives in the first half of 2024. Several Associate General Agents also joined GFS as General Agents to accelerate their expansion. A partnership was also signed with Sentinel Financial Group to obtain exclusive rights to recruit mutual fund and exempt market broker representatives in Quebec. The year 2024 was also marked by the automation of our business processes, the integration of new representatives, and the launch of our call center targeting commercial clients.
2026: Integration into to AOG Group
Groupe Financier Signature reached a new strategic milestone in 2026 by joining Associate Owners Group (AOG), a North American organization specializing in the development and distribution of financial services, which acquires and grows Fintech, Insurtech, and financial services distribution firms. This transaction, completed through a share exchange, aligns long-term growth interests. Advisors now benefit from access to stock options, giving them the opportunity to actively participate in the organization’s value creation.
