BOARD OF DIRECTORS
David John Kennedy
David Kennedy has over 25 years’ experience in financial services such as insurance, commercial lending and manufacturing. For the Board of Directors, David is considered a strategic financial operator and partner.
David is currently CFO of Dorel Home, a world leader in home furnishings listed on the TSX (DII.B).
Prior to joining Dorel, David began his career at PwC, specializing in accounting, tax, auditing and general business practices with large multinationals and SMEs.
He then became Chief Financial and Compliance Officer at Mirabaud Canada Inc. a full-service broker/dealer. He was also Executive VP and CFO at insurance brokerage firms Dale Parizeau Morris Mackenzie Inc. and Mass Insurance Brokers Limited.
Most recently, David was CFO at IOU Financial Inc, a commercial lender to small businesses, where he was responsible for financial reporting, treasury, taxation, corporate finance, capital markets and investor relations (formerly a TSX-listed company).
DaviDavid is a CPA and a graduate of McGill University. He also holds degrees in economics and political science from the University of Toronto.
Philippe Marleau
Philippe Marleau is CEO of Palos Capital Corporation (“Palos”), a financial services company specializing in investment management and merchant banking. Previously, Philippe co-founded and served as CEO of IOU Financial, a technology-based small business lender listed on the TSX-V (IOU).
He currently sits on the boards of Palos, IOU Financial, GobiMin (an investment issuer listed on the TSX-V: GMN) and Grosvenor CPC I (a capital pool company listed on the TSX-V: GRVA.P).
Previously, Mr. Marleau served on the boards of MAG Energy Solutions (a leading North American electricity trader), Fountain Asset (an investment company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (FA)) and several capital pool companies.
Philippe holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) with a minor in Economics from McGill University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Gilles Séguin
Gilles Séguin is head of the securities group at BCF Avocats d’affaires s.e.n.c.r.l., and is recognized as one of Quebec’s leading specialists in exempt market securities.
A pillar of the firm, his expertise also extends to mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, takeover bids, public offerings and private placements.
With over 30 years’ experience, he advises many foreign companies from Europe, the United States and South America as they set up operations in Canada.
He also has extensive experience in the legal and commercial aspects of complex industrial projects.
Jean-François Bergeron
Over the past 15 years, Jean-François has worked as a passionate IT specialist, overseeing the integration, optimization and automation of new technologies in major financial organizations.
He has held numerous positions in the IT field, overseeing product integrations and strategic migrations of mission-critical systems.
He is also a full-time real estate investor who understands the financial strategy behind acquisitions and asset ownership.
Jean-Christophe Emond
Jean Christophe is the owner of an accounting firm specializing in taxation and corporate restructuring.
He has extensive experience in business acquisition, valuation and financing.

With a keen interest in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investing, William went on to earn his Canadian Securities Course license, in addition to his Bachelor's degree in International Business from Concordia University, in order to become a financial advisor. William chose to join Signature Financial Group where his intrinsic desire to work as part of a team is structured, organized and valued. Pierre Chin is an industry-recognized financial security advisor. His impressive career began with a string of awards at a leading insurance company, which he left to set up his own firm in 2019. With an ability to anticipate economic fluctuations, Pierre is enthusiastic about the direction Signature Financial Group is taking, happy to be part of a collaborative vision that will revolutionize the financial world.
With a bachelor's degree in Finance, Pierre-Sébastien has extensive experience in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas such as taxation, inheritance, investments, budgeting and, of course, personal insurance. Pierre-Sébastien is known for his outspokenness and expertise. It always amazes me that some people mistakenly believe they are "uninsurable". "Working with Signature Financial Group increases the financial products available to me tenfold. There are often alternatives and they are accessible." With the GFS Advantage, Pierre-Sébastien is happy to meet his customers' other needs in terms of property insurance, mortgages, investments and group insurance.
